Our History
1949
Eleven VA Hospital employees each pay $5.25 to form a credit union. In a little over a year, assets grow to nearly $25,000.
1952
Nashville VA Credit Union changes its name to US Courthouse Credit Union. All federal employees living or headquartered in Davidson County become eligible for membership.
1955
Assets exceed $1 million and USCCU becomes the first credit union in Tennessee to own its own building.
1969
The times are turbulent, but USCCU members are secure with over $4.3 million in shares and $4 million in loans.
1976
More and more people enjoy the unique benefits of a credit union as the number of members swells to more than 13,000.
1984
Personal, new and used cars, home equity, share secured, and boat loans total more than $33 million – members know they get the best value on a USCCU loan.
1997
USCCU now offers checking accounts, IRAs, home equity lines of credit, and buys its first ATM – USCCU continually looks for new and better ways to serve the members.
2004
USCCU welcomes the city employees of Nashville with the merger of Metro Employees Credit Union. USCCU gets its first branch with a drive-thru. Continuing to expand its footprint, USCCU also opens a branch in Hickory Hollow.
2005
US Courthouse changes its name to US Community Credit Union to reflect its new community-based field of membership. We are now open to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Davidson, Rutherford, or Wilson Counties.
2007
USCCU opens a new branch in Mt. Juliet to better serve the residents of Wilson County.
2011
USCCU expands the field of membership again. We are now proud to also serve Sumner and Williamson Counties.
2011
USCCU opens its first student run branch at McGavock High School.
2012
USCCU expands the Metro branch to better serve the members within Downtown Nashville. The expansion doubles the size of the branch, while increasing its drive thru abilities.
2013
A new branch is opened in an old spot. USCCU opens a branch inside the Estes Kefauver Federal Building, the same place the credit union operated back in the early days.
2013
USCCU opens a branch in Donelson to give even more convenience in Davidson County.
2015
USCCU opens its second student run branch at Hillsboro High School.
2019
USCCU expands the field of membership to include the entire Nashville MSA. We are now proud to also serve Cannon, Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Macon, Maury, Robertson, Smith, or Trousdale Counties.
2020
USCCU launches the Mobile Branch to better serve the communities in our expanded 14-county footprint.
PRESENT
USCCU is continuing to grow in the communities we serve and proud to provide such great service to our members.

Membership
US Community Credit Union membership is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, volunteers, or attends school in and businesses and legal entities located in Davidson, Rutherford, Wilson, Williamson, Sumner, Cannon, Cheatham, Dickson, Hickman, Macon, Maury, Robertson, Smith, or Trousdale counties, or anyone who becomes a member of Friends of Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital At Vanderbilt.* Members of the immediate family or household members may also be members of the credit union.
*Geographical restrictions will apply for those joining through Friends of Monroe Carrell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
This is an exciting time for our credit union as we celebrate over 70 years of service to our present members and to offer the superior service and convenience of credit union membership to our new members in the community.
