Here at USCCU we care about our students and we want to do our part to raise up and support the next generation. That’s why we have programs in place for kids as young as elementary age all the way up through high school and beyond. Now that it is back-to-school time you can find us at many of the local schools, ready to tell you more about these programs for our students.
For the kiddos: Why not set your child up for success by having them enroll in The Centsables program? Our comic characters help kids learn how save and spend that hard-earned allowance money responsibly, instilling great money-making decisions in them from a young age. With games, puzzles, comics, and even TV Episodes The Centsables are sure to make learning fun and easy for your child.
Deposit Program: For our elementary and middle school kids we have a simple deposit program that grows our students’ knowledge and continues to strengthen that mold of good money habits. USCCU representatives visit 20 local elementary and middle schools twice a month to allow students to make deposits into their savings accounts. Not only does this set the student up with a little bit of savings, but it shows them the importance of saving money for the future!
Student-Run High School Branches: We also have two full-service student-run branches in McGavock and Hillsboro High Schools that allow students easy access to their own money. As Freshmen, students are introduced to the credit union student-run branches and told about the importance of saving up for those fun senior year activities. USCCU representatives also provide financial based classes to students throughout the year, helping prepare the students to be money-savvy adults.
We want to create and build positive relationships with our students and their parents. We are committed to doing whatever it takes to make our students feel like family. Our employees are excited to be back-to-school and help your kids with any money questions that may come up.
